Training and competency development
Aviation Profile and Security Services (APSS) operates a professional Aviation Security Training school, delivering structured and industry-relevant training programmes designed to build competent, compliant, and operationally effective aviation security personnel.
Training delivered by the APSS Training School is aligned with ICAO, GCAA-NCASTP, TSA, and other applicable international and national regulatory requirements. Our programmes are purpose-built to support the real operational needs of the aviation industry and are directly aligned with the scope of services delivered by APSS.
Through this approach, the Training School prepares security personnel for deployment across airlines, airports, air cargo operations, aviation cleaning security, and aviation catering security environments. The training programmes offered include the following:
- Passenger and Baggage Security Training
APSS personnel are trained to perform passenger and baggage security operations through effective risk identification, verification of travel documentation, behavioral analysis, application of approved security questioning principles, and secondary screening of passengers and cabin baggage, while maintaining high standards of professionalism and customer service.

- Aircraft Security Training
APSS personnel are trained to carry out aircraft security functions which include controlling access, guarding the aircraft, conducting approved aircraft security search and checks, and maintaining vigilance within security restricted areas.

- Cargo Security Training
APSS personnel are trained to support air cargo security operations by guarding and controlling access to cargo facilities, protecting screened cargo from unlawful interference, supervising and escorting cargo during handling activities, maintaining cargo security up to aircraft loading, and identifying and mitigating insider-related security risks.
- Cargo Security Training
- Catering Security Training: APSS personnel are trained to perform aviation catering security functions by securing catering facilities through access control and guarding, protecting supplies and stores from unlawful interference, supervising catering handling activities, and maintaining security integrity from preparation through delivery to aircraft.
- Supporting and Cross-Cutting Training: In addition to function-specific training, APSS personnel receive supporting training to strengthen aviation security fundamentals, regulatory awareness, effective use of approved security equipment, emergency response, risk awareness, human factors, leadership, quality management, and professional conduct, ensuring safe, compliant, and effective operations across all roles.
Recurrent and Specialized Training
- Recurrent Training: All operational staff participate in mandatory and annual refresher training to maintain competency, address regulatory updates, evolving threats, and operational feedback. Training is practical and performance-focused.
- Specialized Training: APSS provides additional role-specific training based on operational and client needs, including CBTA Dangerous Goods Training
To bring quality and professionalism to these training, APSS has signed up an MOU with Emirates Group Security, other local and foreign trainers from the various embassies and High Commissions who come in to train staff of APSS on all modules of programmes and role plays in conjunction with training clips on job safety, aircraft search etc. the Training department sets up a whole series of training modules dealing with customer service, the methodologies of passenger service, passenger reception and specific treatment in a friendly acceptable way.
The nomenclature of initial and refresher training coupled with periodic role-plays are structured by module. Each module is defined according to the tasks on precise objectives.
